Be Safe Be Seen Selfie
Now that the clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in we wanted to reinforce the importance of staying safe and being seen when out and about. To do this we asked children to come to school wearing something that helps them to be seen in the dark. Miss Clayton then got all of the children together to join her in a giant group selfie to reinforce the message.
Bronze award treat
We would like to say congratulations to all of the children who managed to achieve their bronze award by the end of the first half term. In order to celebrate this fantastic achievement all children had a special treat on the last day of term.
One lucky child from each class was also chosen at random to receive an additional treat. The Bronze ticket winners all got to go on a special visit to McDonald's where they all took turns to order themselves a McFlurry or milkshake of their choice.

Harvest Festival Food Collection
As a follow up to their fantastic class assembly about the harvest festival, 4G with the help of Mrs Grimes have organised a whole school food collection in aid of a local food bank. The class have collected in food donations over the course of the first few weeks in October. The food will then be boxed up and delivered to the Crossover centre who run a food bank to supply needy people in the Bordesley Green area. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sent in a donation.

Visiting a Roman Villa
Year 3 visited the Roman city at Wroxeter for their topic of
‘Invaders and settlers’. The trip allowed children to see Roman ruins from 2000
years ago.
The children also handled Roman objects, saw a replica of a Roman villa and dressed as Romans. They had an excellent time and learnt a
great deal.

Year 3 Peckwood Residential
This year, due to popular demand, we had a double year 3 residential to Peckwood, with 2 groups of children visiting over a 3 day period.
The weather was great and we managed to pack lots into our two day trip.
We visited the local village of Alvechurch.
We went exploring in the woods.
We all had a turn at cooking and preparing food for the group.
Once it started to get dark we also had a bonfire and toasted marshmallows.
