Children in Need 2012

On Friday we took part in a Children in Need fund raising day. The day began with a fantastic class assembly by 5B, all about Children in Need and the various good causes the charity supports. We even had a visit from Pudsey bear.

At break time we held a chocolate tombola. The tombola was organised by the school council, who wrote to several local businesses asking them to donate chocolate, as well as collecting donations from the staff. Children paid 20p for a ticket and any ticket ending in a 0 or 5 was a winner.

Other highlights of the day included  a special non-uniform day where staff and children came to school wearing either spots or their pyjamas. Some people even managed both by wearing spotty pyjamas. We also had a treat at lunchtime when we were served a special Pudsey Cake for dessert which had been specially made by one of our talented cooks.

All together we managed to raise £1,083 for such a great cause.

Playground Makeover

You may have noticed a few changes going on over the last few weeks around the school. It is all part of our whole school playground developmental.

During the summer holidays stage one took place with the demolishing of the old toilet blocks to make way for our super new enclosed sports pitch.

The makeover moved on another stage this week with the grand opening of our brand new climbing equipment in all three playgrounds.

We hope you all enjoy playing on the new equipment.
