Bell Heath Residential Trip

Last week, 48 Year 5 & 6 children went on a three day residential trip to Bell Heath Outdoor Education Centre on the outskirts of Birmingham.

During the visit the children had the opportunity to take part in a variety of different outdoor activities, including:

  • Rock climbing on the climbing wall

  • Shelter building with tarpaulin and natural materials

We had to work together as a team to build the best shelter.
Carefully choosing the best spot for our shelter.
We worked together to find ways of attaching the tarpaulin to the trees.
Once we had finished we had to test the shelters out.
We were told the shelters needed to be waterproof.
Some worked...
others didn't!

  • Archery
We were shown how to hold the bow safely and correctly.

Then we had a go at shooting at the targets.
Even the teachers had a go!
  • Team building activities
We had to work together to complete the different tasks.

  • Bush crafts

We went pond dipping.
We collected stones, twigs and sticks from the forest.

As well as some more colourful objects.
Then we used them to create some forest art.
