During the visit the children had the opportunity to take part in a variety of different outdoor activities, including:
- Rock climbing on the climbing wall
- Shelter building with tarpaulin and natural materials
We had to work together as a team to build the best shelter. |
Carefully choosing the best spot for our shelter. |
We worked together to find ways of attaching the tarpaulin to the trees. |
Once we had finished we had to test the shelters out. |
We were told the shelters needed to be waterproof. |
Some worked... |
others didn't! |
- Archery
We were shown how to hold the bow safely and correctly. |
Then we had a go at shooting at the targets. |
Even the teachers had a go! |
- Bush crafts
We went pond dipping. |
We collected stones, twigs and sticks from the forest. |
As well as some more colourful objects. |
Then we used them to create some forest art. |
